My name is Emma, Marie is my middle name, and I am 24 years old (I'm a Leo!)
I’ve been painting for as long as I can remember. My earliest memories are from preschool, and by junior school I was (to my horror) being sent into other classrooms by teachers to show off my work. I fell in love with portraiture during my A-levels and went on to complete a diploma at Chesterfield Art College.
After the pandemic, I began the Fine Art course at Nottingham Trent University, before deciding I’d “had enough of art” and switched to Graphic Design (despite having no prior experience or even knowing what it was).
Those years shaped my eye for digital design and sparked a lasting interest in Branding. After graduating, I moved to London and completed a Master’s degree in Design & Branding.
After 4 years of studying, I moved back home. Christmas was approaching, and I was completely broke...so naturally, everyone received a handmade gift. I painted my parents a portrait of their beloved dog, though I hadn’t painted in years and wasn’t sure I still could.
I shared the process on a new TikTok account, and within two weeks, the video reached one million views! Suddenly, I was met with a wave of commission enquiries I hadn’t planned for, so armed with a hastily made information sheet and a lot of emails, EmmaMarieArts was born.
